At our October Monthly Meeting, we will continue to focus on adoption, reinforcing the beauty of this option for unplanned pregnancies.
Just as every birth story is unique, so is every adoption story. Our guests, Jason and Kristin, will share the very special story of Madison, whom they fostered as a newborn and adopted at 7 months old.
Jason and Kristin first ventured into the world of fostering in 2015. While they weren’t sure if they would ever adopt, they were sure that God had called them to care for the vulnerable and orphans. For two years they fostered multiple children, from newborns to older toddlers, giving both long-term and respite care. Then in March of 2017, they received their last foster placement, baby Madison, who was to become the youngest in their family.
Madison is the fourth of five biological siblings. Often in multiple sibling adoptions the children become separated and no longer have contact. However, the parents of the five biological siblings have made the commitment to stay in touch and make it possible for the siblings to grow up knowing each other.
This unique arrangement has also provided a built-in support system and allows the families to experience the trials and triumphs of life together!
They arrange get-togethers several times a year, some with just the biological siblings and others with the entire extended family. They encourage each other through phone calls, video calls, and even a much-loved “Baby Mommas” text thread, where many laughs, and some tears, are shared.
