Financial Help for Pregnant Women

Undergoing an abortion procedure comes with risks other than physical harm. Women who have abortions are also at risk for emotional, spiritual and psychological trauma. Before visiting an abortion clinic, make sure you take the time to think about the decision. Pregnancy care centers exist to inform you of the risks that may occur during an abortion and present you with alternative resources. The professionals who work in pregnancy care centers want to help you and your baby. Please consult our Health Service Providers list to find local pregnancy care centers who can provide free pregnancy testing, counseling, adoption planning or suggestions for raising a child.

Confirm Your Pregnancy

Pregnancy care centers can help determine if you are actually pregnant. These centers can provide you with a free and confidential laboratory-grade urine test. If you are pregnant, a trained pregnancy center advocate can provide additional resources relevant to your situation.

Make sure you speak with a medical professional who has your best interest in mind. There have been cases where abortion clinics provided clients with incorrect information to obtain an abortion fee.

Get an Ultrasound

A local pregnancy center can perform an ultrasound. A non-diagnostic ultrasound tells you how far along you are and if the pregnancy is viable.

Is My Unborn Baby Human?

Abortion clinics will sometimes tell patients a fetus is not human, but only a blob of tissue. This is untrue. But, for some women, it becomes easier to have an abortion if the baby doesn’t have Life. Ultrasound photos show the humanness of babies inside the womb from an early stage. Avoid misinformation by getting an ultrasound to reveal the true development of your child.

Avoid Signing Anything that Releases Liability

Be sure to take the time to read over anything an abortion clinic gives you. During traumatic events, we tend to rush into things and disregard future consequences. Before you sign anything, make sure you understand what you are reading. If you need clarification, ask for it. Remember, you can always reschedule your appointment for a later date to ensure you have all the information you need.

Know Your Rights

No one can force you to have an abortion. Husbands or parents cannot require you to receive a procedure against your will, even if you are a minor. Your local pregnancy center can help you discuss your choice with those closest to you.

You Can Change Your Mind

Walking into an abortion clinic for your procedure can be intimidating. If you start doubting your decision, know you can change your mind. Abortion clinics will sometimes refuse to give your money back if you cancel abortion procedure. In this situation, do not feel pressured or intimidated. Know your rights and demand your money back. If you decide to carry through with your pregnancy, a local pregnancy care center can walk you through your available options.

You are Not Alone

Before getting an abortion, take the time to consider all options by visiting a pregnancy care center. These facilities exist to help you during and after your pregnancy. Pregnancy care professionals work to support you through difficult times by helping you determine your course of action, offering services or resources and guiding you through the process with an open mind.
