As the third month of the Covid-19 crisis draws to a close, our May Monthly Meeting will spotlight our area pregnancy care centers, who have continued to provide services during this critical time.  With abortions resuming in Texas following Governor Abbott’s temporary ban on elective surgery, the pregnancy care centers are again a vital alternative to the pressure toward abortion.

LifeFirst partners closely with area PCCs on the front lines of the battle for life. Through our ongoing volunteer prayer effort outside of Planned Parenthood-Spring, we direct individuals in crisis to area PCCs. Along with prayer, we offer a helpful gift bag that includes our Health Services List. This provides a convenient referral to area PCCs as well as additional resources for free and reduced-cost well-woman and general medical care.

The executive directors of five of our local pregnancy care centers will be joining us LIVE for our online meeting at 7 pm on Thursday, 5/28.  These individuals lead the battle for life!  Under normal circumstances, the nature of this calling presents daily challenges in which human life is at stake.  But our guests will share the added effects of Covid-19, what the “new normal” for client services looks like for the foreseeable future, and how this impacts the needs of their ministries.

These strong leaders and the organizations they direct are equipped with all the weapons necessary for this battle – mental, physical, and spiritual, but community support is crucial.

Mental

Armed with the truth, these organizations present moms-to-be with all the information they need to make a truly informed decision about their pregnancies.  Counseling is also available for new parents or parents adding to their nest.

Physical

Each center offers clients a free ultrasound, which can identify an ectopic pregnancy and indicate if a pregnancy is viable.  In a healthy pregnancy, the mom gets to see her baby for the first time, which most often results in a decision for life!  Donated and gently used baby items can also help a mom get ready for her bundle of joy and relieve some of the financial burden she may be facing during the first couple of years.

Spiritual

Most importantly, clients hear of God’s love for them and their babies, created in His image.  They receive prayer and moral support that continues throughout the pregnancy and beyond!

Please join us online once again for another important topic in our Monthly Meeting series. Though we are unable to gather together, let’s remain vigilant in our support of the unborn, their parents, and those giving them firsthand assistance through this difficult time. As COVID-19 restrictions get lifted, will you consider being one of these front-line rescuers by praying outside of Planned Parenthood? If so, please download and print our Health Service List found here or on our website under the “Pregnancy Resources” tab.

We hope to resolve the connection issues we experienced last month and appreciate your patience as we strive to bring this meeting right to your device via Zoom!
